Katrina: Bollywood`s only belly dancer

Katrina Kaif, the actress of the moment in Bollywood, is now the only belly dancer actress. The actress had gotten a tutor to prepare for a part in a film, and has learned very quickly to dance wonderfully. The film was a success, and surely all of Katrina’s fans loved her in “Sheila Ki Jawani”. After being amazed at the sight of her dancing performance, fans are wondering who taught Katrina to belly dance?

The answer is the expert in belly dancing moves Veronica D’Souza. She is the woman behind Katrina’s success in “Sheila Ki Jawani”. Veronica has trained most of the girls in Bllywood, and so Katrina went to her, because she wanted to be the only belly dancing actress in Bollywood. The one who made possible the meeting between the two was Farah Khan.

Desi Boyz & the Dirty Picture Passes Censor Board without Cuts

Amongst widespread speculations about the partiality the censor board shows towards big filmmakers the board today passed of two upcoming movies without a single cut. Many of the small budget filmmakers have often accused the censor board of being biased towards the more famed ones and the censor board proved it true yet again by passing Desi Boyz and The Dirty Picture without any cuts.

The two most awaited movies of the time were examined by the Censor board and guess why they found no offending content in either. The decision to pass both the flicks with no cuts has left many in a state of shock. Apparently both the films got away with a mere ‘A’ certificate.

The Akshay Kumar and John Abraham starrer Desi Boyz seem still disappointed however. It’s makers quoted that they were expecting nothing more than a U/A certificate coz the big budget film starring Akshay, John, Chitrangada and Deepica is supposed to be a family film. The makers seem to be anticipating a lot of trouble mere coz their so called ‘family film’ was branded an ‘A’. One reason for the board’s decision might be the fact that both the lead actors Akshay and John play male strippers in the upcoming flick.

Quite contrary to this feeling the makers of The Dirty Picture who were pretty unsure of the censor board’s decision till sometime back seem pretty glad that their movie was passed without any cuts. It was in news that the Andhra Pradesh High Court had sent the censor board a notice enquiring if the movie was suitable to be released. However, the censor board seems pretty sure that the movie is perfect for release to all adults. I bet the makers of the movie were surprised that the onlookers when the movie passed through the censor board without a single cut.

The role of the censor board has been in speculations lately over releasing films with objectionable content just for the big film makers whereas the small time makers have to sweat it out to get simple sequences passed. Biased or not we are not sure but the chance of watching a completely uncensored film does bring excited smiles on a lot of faces.

The King Of Bollywood Rejects ‘Wipeout: Zor Ka Jhatka 2’

Riding high on the success of Ra.One Shahrukh Khan seems more confident than ever. Success does give one wings I guess especially if the someone is King Khan. With ‘Don 2’ lined up for a Christmas release and the entire industry expecting it to be a bigger hit than Ra.One Shahrukh Khan is trending his way carefully with future offers.

It seems that Shahrukh Khan will not be hosting ‘Wipeout: Zor Ka Jhatka 2’. The King Khan himself made this clear during an interview with a leading daily. Khan also made it clear that the only reason he did the first season of the show was to gather some money which was to be invested in Ra.One. The amount seemed sumptuous too. Rs 40 crores are no joke after all – came straight from the horse’s mouth. Not to mention Shahrukh’s performance in the show was nothing worth watching.

We all have seen how well the King Khan handles witty hosting. Consider his performance at the Filmfare awards for example. That set his level to something which is difficult to be at par with. The die-hard fans of Shahrukh Khan sure expected an excellent performance in the show as well. However it seems all of them were only disappointed. Be it the double meaning talk, the poor VFX or the dance with Priyanka Chopraeverything seemed to lack the charm of SRK.

Despite his continued trials to hit the funny nerve he could not manage the laughs that the original show generated. Ever since SRK started doing films after his initial two television shows ‘Fauji’ and ‘Circus’ he has never been a success with television. It seems his performance on the television screen always receives the cold shoulder. Be it ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ or ‘Kya Aap Panchvi Paas Se Tez Hain’ nothing seems to have ever worked for the King Khan. Fans should now take a breather that SRK has finally realized his failure with the television screen. Interesting news coming in is that SRK is expected to shoot for Yash Chopra’s directional venture with Bollywood queen Katrina Kaif the coming year. Now this is something that we expect of the star that SRK is. Isn’t it?

Deepika Padukone Slaps TV Host

So much of slapping going around! I do not want to comment on whether the slap that Harvinder Singh landed on agriculture minister Mr. Sharad Pawar was right or wrong. It’s a rather complicated issue involving more than just politics but we sure can discussBollywood slaps.

Bollywood heartthrob Deepika Padukonerecently made news with something other than acting. Yeah! Right! A slap is the foolproof plan to ultimate fame. The industry has changed in different aspects over time but the basics of getting publicity seem to remain the same.

Off late Deepika slapped a television host Vivaan in a newly launched show on Zoom TV. She also had an explanation to the same. Read on and judge for yourself whether the reason was justified.

The actress later stated that the achor of the particular show, Vivaan is a known face to her. He had apparently worked with the famed actress in a not so famed movie, i.e. ‘Karthik calling Karthik’. The slap as it seems was a mere hello to an old acquaintance. Trust me it all started with a slap.

In an interview to a reputed daily the actress clarified that her first shoot of ‘Kartik calling Kartik’ was with Vivaan and it apparently was a scene where she had to slap him. Deepika felt that as it was the first episode of the show it ought to start with a slap. Smart though eh! Well she sure is showing a bold face to the media and her fans worldwide. Deepika also seems to have handled the situation in a pretty cool manner.

For the TV hosts let’s hope Deepika is no more invited to first episodes of shows especially with people she has had a history of slapping. Bold and the beautiful! Is it?

Veena Malik bares it all for FHM

For a lady who hasn't ever stripped off on camera, Veena Malik was surprisingly at ease at the FHM India cover shoot. 

Posing in her knickers and later wriggling out of them, "It's tough standing on one leg, while trying to cover up with one hand and running the other through my hair - you guys are going to pay for this," she told the team.

Item numbers on the rise: Deepika and Kareena next

Why do all these ‘respectable’ actresses have to resort to this cheap gimmick? Ever since ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ became a huge hit, every female lead in Bollywood seems to think that this is the way to go.

We don’t blame Munni for all this hype, because Malaika Arora has been primarily an item girl. She’s never done any serious acting, and is famous for her looks and her dance moves alone. Therefore ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’ was just another really successful item number. ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ saw Katrina Kaif being an item girl. Katrina, one of the most successful females in Bollywood, didn’t need to increase her popularity with an item number.

However, this did lead her arch rival, Deepika Padukone to also take up an item number. Deepika is doing an item song for a movie she isn’t even a part of. The movie, Dum Maro Dum, actually has Bipasha Basu in the lead. Unfortunately, Deepika might just be criticized for this step of hers, because while the producers and choreographers have tried their best to make her look hot, this song will soon be forgotten. It does not even match the previous two hits because firstly, the song is actually really bad. Secondly, it’s looks like such a desperate attempt at trying to make Deepika look hotter than Katrina.

 Next in line for the throne is Kareena Kapoor. While she has done an item number before, we fear for her because this time round, the song has to be hotter and trashier than Maliaka, Katrina and Deepika.  The upcoming item number by her can be seen in her movie, Ra. One.

Katrina Kaif bullies Ranbir Kapoor

Leaves will never sway unless the wind blows. An actor once said that it’s just a plain lie if a pair says that they share great chemistry on screen and yet not get attracted to each other. If we are to go by this claim, it’s difficult to describe the relationship that Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif share. The chemistry between them is said to be great.

Ranbir and Katrina had great time shooting for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. They pulled each other’s legs and yet got along very well. Ranbir philosophically said that chemistry is something that the characters share and not between two individuals. He however added that he is happy that the audience like the chemistry they share in the promos.

Katrina has her own take on the term ‘chemistry’. She said that great chemistry is an outcome of people who have the same vision. But giving the relationship a twist, Ranbir revealed that Katrina bullied him while he complimented her.

Giving a hint on the story, Katrina revealed that Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is an ordinary love story about ordinary people leading ordinary lives that is told in a very unusual way. Ranbir added that it is a complete entertainer with lovely story and not just a bunch of jokes.

Well, let’s wait and watch what the pair in offer for the film lovers. Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is all set for release on November 6.
